  • Do I need an appointment?
    No appointment is needed. Our bridal showroom is ready and waiting for your arrival. Stop in at your leisure for cake tasting and consultation. Plan about one hour of time for your first visit.

  • Can I come on a Saturday?
    Yes! We are open each Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Keep in mind, Saturday is our busiest day of the week….so if you have time on a weekday it is suggested. If Saturday is really the best day for your schedule, stop on in. Just be sure to plan extra time for the consultation. The showroom might be filled with other customers planning their special day too.

  • Can I taste cake samples?
    You bet! This is the very best part of coming to Granite Bakery. Upon arrival in the showroom, our bridal specialist will provide a sample list and an order card. Choose your favorites and wait just a few short minutes while your custom samples are created in our kitchen.

  • Is there a fee for cake tasting?
    No way! We are proud of our delicious confections and we want you to taste and judge our quality for yourself, free of charge.

  • Can I take samples to go?
    Of course! If tight planning schedules interfere and you both can’t make it to the showroom together, we will be happy to box samples and send them home with you. Taste those take-home samples together and call in your selections at a later time.

  • What should I bring to a consultation?
    Ideas, inspiration, color samples, photos, your Pinterest board, magazine clippings…bring it all! We love custom creations. Meeting your vision is our specialty. Don’t have a clue where to start? Don’t hesitate to come empty handed. In our showroom we have cakes on display, hundreds of photos, and color cards. Our bridal specialists are here to help!

  • What size cake should I order?
    Our bridal consultants are experts at suggesting the right size cake for your event. When suggesting the correct size, our consultant will take into account your guest list, event menu, cake cutting time, and event style. If you are having a sit down event, a slice cake for every guest is expected. If you are having an open flow reception, some guests might not still be in attendance when the cake cutting begins. A sheet cake or cupcakes for extra servings might also be suggested. The options are endless!

  • What if I am planning on a budget?
    No worries! Our product range is great and we can help you plan your order with your specific budget in mind. The options shown on our pricing guide can be customized. Let’s have a conversation about how we can provide an option that fits your needs.

  • What if I don’t live near Salt Lake City?
    We can help long distance, no problem. Visit our 'Contact Us' page. Send your information and photo ideas via email. We can exchange emails and discuss ideas on the phone. We help long distance customers on a regular basis.

  • Do I need to pay a deposit?
    No deposit is required to start your order. We will create a customer agreement for your event day. Final payment is due 2 weeks before the event. You can review a copy of a blank customer agreement HERE

  • What if I need to cancel my order?
    If you place and order and need to cancel, be sure to notify one of our bridal coordinators. If you cancel prior to making a payment, there are no penalities. If you cancel after making a payment, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.

  • What if my event is being held outside?
    Cake is sensitive to temperature. Let us suggest the right type of icing for an outdoor event, especially if you've planned to be outside in the hot summer months. We would hate to see your cake slide, slip, or melt on your big day. Take our professional opinion and suggestions to avoid temperature mishaps
     
  • Do the serving sizes inlcude the top tier?
    No, they do not. The serving sizes listed are for only the bottom layer(s) of the cake. Couples like to keep the top tier for gift opening or an anniversary.

  •  Do you lend your cake stands?
    Absolutely. We have a large inventory of options you can choose from. Reserve your stand early to ensure you get your first choice. All can be used at no cost. We will have you leave a refundable security deposit.  Similar to a hotel incidental...the deposit will only be charged if the stand is not returned on time in good condition.
